This policy explains what personal information chasingplaces.com collects, why we collect it and how we use it. We aim to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Using this website means you accept this policy; we review it regularly and post any changes on this page.
Who we are
Chasing Places is a travel guide blog at https://chasingplaces.com, managed by P. A. Cybulskie. Under the GDPR, Chasing Places is the data controller for the personal data described below.
What we collect and why
Newsletter sign-ups. When you join the Chasers, we collect your email address so we can send our newsletter, roughly once a month. We store it with our email provider, Resend. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove your address at any time.
Contact form. When you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, company (optional), the topic you chose and your message. We use this only to reply to you and keep the email in our inbox for as long as the conversation is relevant. The form is delivered through Resend.
Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is submitting them. Turnstile may process technical information such as your IP address and browser signals for this purpose only. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Server logs. Our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver and secure the site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not collect sensitive information such as your full address or payment details.
Analytics
If we measure visits, we use privacy-friendly analytics that do not set tracking cookies and do not identify individual visitors. We use this aggregated information to understand which guides are useful and to improve the site.
Affiliate links and third-party sites
Some links on Chasing Places are affiliate links, for example to Agoda, Booking.com, CheapOair, Discover Cars or World Nomads. If you click one, the partner site may set its own cookies to record that the booking came from us, so we can earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you emails. To make a request or ask a question about this policy, email admin@chasingplaces.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on a request.
